Minor Project: Prop (Open and Closing of Umbrella)

I was not certain on how to rig an umbrella so I have used the blendshaping method instead.

Minor Project: Side Character (Facial Rig)

This is my side character's facial rig complete. Just like my main character, I am going to use the Non Weight Normalized Skinning method of facial rigging where rivets and controls will be added.

Minor Project: Main Character Texturing Completed

Here's my main character textured with both outfits. One of it has been posed, ready for turnaround. The other one, where she is in her pyjamas, is currently being worked on in terms of her position for the turnaround.

Minor Project: Character Texturing

This is my character's initial texturing. Improvements are to be made to her eyeshadows (smoother transition is needed) but overall, I feel that it's getting there. The skin has a touch too much red which requires a tweak of desaturation. I am quite happy with the result.

Minor Project: Props (Hats)

These are the character's hats modelled. There are still minor refinements to be made especially for the main hat (the third hat from the left)

Minor Project: Character Walk

Since the character's rig is complete, I thought of doing a character walk cycle in preparation for a turnaround that will be presented as part of the minor project submission.

Minor Project: Prop (Ant)

Apart from the main character in her two different outfits and the side character(the girl), there's also a shot in the poem that has an ant. The ant being squashed was to illustrate the line in the poem that is: I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired

I've modelled a simple ant and followed a tutorial on how to rig it.

I still have to watch more videos to learn the movement of an ant as what I have here is not quite there yet.

@Alan Minor Project: Character (Facial Rig- Set Up Completed)

For the facial rig, I had to add additional controls on the cheeks to make it work. After following the tutorial, I found out the the cheeks was not working as how I thought it should be. With the default controls that I've followed fromt the tutorial, I had lack of control over her big cheeks because when her jaw opens, her cheeks should move down.

Hence, I've added additional outer cheeks control which I feel works better. Am I going the right direction or is it too much? I've also added an aim constraint for the additional outer cheeks control to the first outer cheeks control.

Minor Project: Character (Facial Rig- Rivets)

This is what I have so far for the facial rig. I've created the rivets and adjusted the weights which still needs a little bit more work.

Minor Project: Character (Facial Rig- Eyes, Mouth & Blink)

This is the character's facial control which includes the eye controls, the blink and the mouth completed. I will continue the facial rig using rivets and controls instead. Also, I have adjusted the weighting on the boobs.

Minor Project: Main Character (Rigging)

Issues faced when doing the IK was resolved and pole vectors were fixed. Additional joints were also added around the edge of the blouse, allowing me to have a better control for it.

@Alan Minor Project: Rigging IK Problem

After doing the rig for the feet, I wanted to do the no flip pole vector but there's only a certain distance (Translate Y) that the leg can go before the knee collapses. Is it because I had an extra joint on the leg(the fibula joint) that when I create the IK from hip to ankle, I should have created Hip to Knee to Ankle under the same settings of Rotate Plane solver and Sticky checked?

Minor Project: Test Textures

Before I start rigging my character, I did a quick test for my textures to see how it looks like. It's quite successful as I now see her coming together. Pretty exciting! :)

The way I've painted the curls are looking how I've imagined it to be and hence, when it comes to the texturing it properly, I'll add more darks and lights to it.

Minor Project: Main Character's Skinning in PJs (Complete)

Here's the skinning completed for my character in her second outfit.

Minor Project: Main Character's Skinning in Main Outfit (Complete)

As advised, a couple of joints which are the forearms and shin bones were added to the main rig. By doing so, it has help provide a better quality skinning outcome for my character which I am quite pleased about.

Minor Project: Character UV Fixed

Though I did not draw eyelashes on my orthographics for my character, she needs one and hence, I've done one for her.
Addition of Eyelashes
Additionally, before going further, I've made sure that my character's UV have been fixed so that when it comes to texturing, everything will work out well.

Minor Project: Girl (UV Complete)

This is the side character, the girl, with her UV laid out.

Minor Project: Girl (Side Character- Redone)

This is the side character, model completed.

Minor Project: Girl (Side Character)

This is my side character where you would see her for only a couple of seconds, giving my main character a high five. I came up with this character over summer but I realised there was several problems in construction, and hence I have gone back to her model to fix it.
